Annotations

Lets users place quick annotations on the map: text labels, arrows, rectangles, ellipses and freehand strokes. Annotations are decoration — ideal for pointing things out — and are saved with the map in an “Annotations” layer.

Looking to edit real layer features — attributes and geometries — instead? Use the Feature editor widget.

Parameter What it does
Open by default The annotation toolbar is visible when the map opens. Off: it starts folded to a single button.
Tools Which annotation tools are offered (text, arrow, rectangle, ellipse, freehand). At least one stays enabled.
Default color The stroke and text color the toolbar starts with.
Default width The stroke width the toolbar starts with (thin, medium, thick).
Position The map corner the toolbar lives in.

A highlighter button in the corner you picked folds and unfolds the toolbar. The toolbar offers exactly the tools you allowed, starting with your default color and width; an undo and a clear button remove annotations. Annotations present when you saved the map are published with it.
